Immobilized lipase is a cost-effective biocatalyst for a wide variety of industrial applications, mainly in food, cosmetics, and pharmaceutics due to the huge number of so-called chemically catalyzed reactions of industrial interest that can be replaced by immobilized-enzyme catalysis.
